Tennis & English - 9 - 17 years

Improve your tennis skills while learning English at ESE

If you love tennis and would like to improve your game then here’s a perfect opportunity for you to get personal tennis coaching sessions while on your English study holiday.

Whether you are an advanced player or a complete beginner, having a number of private coaching sessions can help improve your game and keep you focused on your style and technique. Private coaching sessions at Salini Resort allows the coach to build on your personal strengths and improve on any areas that you might feel you are weak in. And your tennis coach will train you in English so you will also benefit from practising your English outside the classroom.

You must be enrolled in the ESE Teen & Junior programmes at Salini Resort to be able to book tennis lessons which are optional and for an additional fee.  No need to travel or waste time travelling;  there is convenience in this optional sport with tennis lessons at the tennis courts at Salini Resort itself.

YOU WILL

  • improve your game
  • learn fundamental tennis concepts
  • build on personal strengths
  • improve on any areas of weakness
  • practice English whilst playing tennis

Lessons

A General English 20 course is included in the Teen Club programme with 4 lessons, each 45 minutes long, held every weekday either in the morning or afternoon.  Teen Club students may also upgrade their course to either General English 30 (6 lessons per day) or the Intensive English course which combines General English 20 with 10 semi / private one-to-one lessons.

Students  improve their general level of English with more focus on their core language skills (speaking, reading, writing and listening) grammar and vocabulary.  Lessons are based on exciting topics which are relevant to the students’ ages. Students are also encouraged to develop their fluency by responding to these topics as well as other stimulating teaching material such as current events updates which helps build confidence as they express their opinion in English.

English lessons are at the Salini Resort in well designed classrooms with lots of natural light and outfitted with air conditioning and Smart Boards.

Leisure programme

Teen Club students follow an ESE activity programme with activities selected to be fun, educational and enjoyable appropriate for their age group.  However, teens opting for tennis lessons will have to forfeit some Teen Club activities which coincide with their tennis lessons.

The ESE Leisure programme is a full weekly programme with activities organised daily from Monday to Friday in the morning/afternoon and another in the evening.  Saturday  is a full day activity and Sunday is a well-earned day off although additional optional activities are offered.

Activities included in the package include Welcome Party, sports activities, trips to some of Malta’s most popular sandy beaches, free access to the ESE Beach Club (seasonal), boat trips and cultural tours. The activity programme varies from one week to another and some activities are subject to weather conditions.

ESE activities are also a great way and opportunity to practise English and make friends with other learners of different nationalities in a sociable and enjoyable setting.  Click here for more information.

What is your level of English?

Don’t worry – we’ll figure that out for you.

Before arrival you can do the ESE online placement test, which must be submitted at least 7 days before you start your course.

Alternatively, our academic staff will ask you to sit for a short placement test on your first day at school, so you are guaranteed to be in the course that is the right level for you.
