Internship in Malta

An ESE work placement / Internship package gives you the opportunity to gain practical work experience which is relevant to your area of study or interest.

 

As an ESE work placement, you will benefit from working in an English-speaking work environment, developing your English especially for work purposes as well as skills required for work such as presenting, negotiating and writing a cv.  You will also have access to the ESE e-learning site from the moment you book your internship so that you can start brushing up your English before your arrival in Malta.

English face-to-face tuition:1st week: 20 lessons (15 hours) of General English + Following weeks: 4 lessons of English for Work Purposes every fortnight (3 hours) / Regular meetings with a Work Placement Coordinator.

You start your stay in Malta with a week of General English 20 classes which will help you brush up your language skills.  During this week you will also be introduced to your line manager at your place of work and shown how to find your way to the work place.

As from the second week you will be expected to work for approximately 30 to 36 hours per week (according to your College or University’s request) and take lessons of "English for Work Purposes".

During your English for Work Purposes session, you will develop skills which are useful for your career such as giving presentations, negotiating and writing a CV.

Family and Friends

During your work placement you may have family and/or friends who wish to visit you and ESE will gladly arrange their flights and accommodation.  Relatives or friends are encouraged to visit you after your first five weeks of internship are over.

Leisure

Take advantage of the Maltese weather and location and enjoy many outdoor activities such as horse riding, sailing and scuba diving or ask our team to help you to practise your favourite sport.   Alternatively, let the ESE leisure team help you experience the beauty of Malta’s rich and interesting culture and history. At ESE we have a team of friendly and dedicated professionals who can help make your stay a memorable and fulfilling experience while giving you the opportunity to make new friends and practise your English!

Completed applications for work placements should reach us at least 14 weeks before your preferred arrival date. Organisations prefer to take on students who are in Malta for a minimum of 12 weeks and over, although shorter stays will be considered upon request.

This package is suitable for students involved in vocational education and training and who wish to attain a Europass Mobility Certificate in conjunction with the Leonardo da Vinci programme.  The package aims to help build a skilled workforce across Europe.
