Ever dreamt about becoming a teacher of English as a Foreign Language?
This year, it has now become much easier – the ELT Council in Malta have just announced that TELT (Test for English Language Teachers) and SEPTT (Spoken English Proficiency Test for Teachers) will be FREE for the rest of 2022!

The ELT Council is offering the opportunity to sit for the TELT and SEPTT exams as well as a job in one of the 35 licensed ELT schools across Malta and Gozo. The TELT Award costs will be covered by the government Training Pays Scheme, so you can sit for the exam free of charge. If you have an A-Level qualification, then you do not need to sit for the TELT examination. Exams will be held on Saturday 16th July and Saturday 22nd October 2022.
Once you’ve made your decision, don’t forget to apply for the SEPTT examination – this will help develop your speaking skills as you teach. Exams are held once a month.
If you’re wondering why you should consider a career path in the English language teaching industry, check out our past blog post – Why You Really Should Consider Teaching English As A Foreign Language.
To start your journey, apply by sending an email to [email protected] or https://myexams.gov.mt/ . You don’t need very much – full details can be found here.

ESE (Malta) is accredited by ELT Council Malta.
