Lessons/week

20 Group lessons (15 hours) + 10 Individual lessons (7.5 hours)

The group lessons part of this course will help you improve your fluency, your general level of English and give you a better understanding of the English language.  You will also develop your vocabulary around topics of general interest which are relevant to everyday life and develop the four core language skills  – listening, speaking, reading and writing.  Learning English in a multinational group of students of a similar language level to yourself means that you benefit from real life practice. As you get used to different accents and levels of English, you will find it is easier to communicate in English outside the classroom.

In combination with your group sessions, you will follow one-to-one sessions with a teacher in the afternoons.  It’s up to you to decide with your teacher which areas of language you would like to work on. You might want extra fluency practice, some practical writing tips or vocabulary building around a specific topic of your choice.

As an Intensive English learner you will follow 20 General English group lessons (of 45 minutes each) and 10 individual or one-to-one lessons (of 45 minutes each) per week.

You can continue to improve your English through self-study by accessing our free ESE e-Learning programme from the time you enrol until three months after you finish your course.

Typically, students enrol in this course for 1 to 3 weeks but any number of weeks is possible.
